Manage Team

Last updated: 19. October 2026

If several people work on your configento.app account, give each of them their own login with a suitable role – instead of sharing one password. The role determines who edits configurators, who sees payment details and who manages the team. This article shows all roles, how to invite people and what you can change later.

Only Owner and Admin may manage the team. Only they see the Team menu item.

Owner and Admin have the same permissions. The difference: there is exactly one owner, and the account emails go to them – for example the reminder before the trial ends, notices about expiring credit cards and the confirmation of a cancellation. Invoices go to the billing email address, see Payment Methods & Invoices.

Typical assignment:

  • Editor – someone who builds configurators and connects shops but has nothing to do with payments.
  • Accounting – someone who needs invoices and maintains payment details but doesn't edit configurators.
  • Read only – someone who needs an overview of services, connections and invoices.

The Team page

Under Team there are three sections:

  • Members – all members of the selected customer with Name, Email and Role.
  • Pending invitations – invitations that have been sent but not yet accepted, with Email, Role, Invited by and Expires.
  • Invite member – the form for new invitations.

If you work for several customers, the page always applies to the customer selected at the top right.

Invite a member

  1. Under Invite member, enter the Email address.
  2. Choose the Role (Editor is preselected).
  3. Click Invite.

The person receives an email "Invitation to … on configento.app". The invitation is valid for 5 days and is listed under Pending invitations during that time.

There you can

  • send it again with Resend – the 5 days then start over,
  • withdraw it with Cancel (confirmation Cancel invitation?).

You can't create a second invitation for an email address that is already a member or already has a pending invitation.

Accept an invitation

What the invited person sees after clicking the link depends on whether they already have an account:

  • No account yet: they fill in the Create account and join form (name, salutation, role in the company, password) and are then logged in and a member right away.
  • Already have an account: they log in and choose Accept invitation or Decline.

The invitation only applies to the email address it was sent to. If the person is logged in with a different account, they see Wrong account and have to log out and log in with the right address. If the invitation has expired, the page asks them to have it resent.

Change a role

You change a member's role directly in the member list using the selection in the Role column. The change applies immediately; the member receives an email about it.

Transfer ownership

If you choose the role Owner for a member, the portal asks "Transfer the owner role to …?". After Transfer

  • this member is the new owner,
  • the previous owner becomes Admin.

Both are notified by email. The only owner can't simply give up their role – they first have to transfer it to someone else.

Remove a member

Click Remove next to the member and confirm Remove member?. Access to this customer ends immediately, and the person receives an email. Their own user account remains – if they are no longer a member of any customer, they see No customer access after logging in.

You can't remove the only owner. If you remove yourself, you land on the Services page.

Troubleshooting

  1. I don't see the "Team" menu item – only owners and admins manage the team.
  2. The invitation doesn't arrive – check the spam folder, then use Resend. If it has expired, also use Resend.
  3. "Wrong account" – the invited person is logged in with a different email address. Log out and log in or register with the invited address.
  4. "You are the only owner" – first transfer the owner role to another member; then you can change your own role.
  5. A member doesn't see a section – check the Roles and permissions table and whether the right customer is selected at the top right.
