configento.app is a cloud solution for product configurators, quote configurators and price calculators. You build your configurator in the browser and embed it in your shop or website with a plugin or an HTML snippet. This article shows how the parts fit together, explains the key terms and gives you a learning path through the documentation.
The three parts

This is how the data flows:
- You log in to the Service Portal and open the Admin with Manage. You don't need to log in a second time.
- In the admin you build a component and save it. What you save is a draft that only the preview in the admin shows.
- Publish releases that state. Only then does your shop see it.
- The shop loads the published component from the cloud and shows it to your customers. They don't see the cloud – the configurator appears as part of your page.
On older contracts, Manage still opens the previous admin; the new one is then listed below it under Manage V3. More on this: Login and Account Navigation.

Shop plugins are available from the Professional plan.
Magento 1 and Shopware 5 are only offered to existing accounts with the classic cloud. These accounts find the plugins in the admin under Settings → Integrations – see Global Settings.
Quote and inquiry configurator
Without a cart – or in addition to it – the action button completes the configuration. It has four actions:
- Custom URL – sends the configuration to an address of your choice, for example your CRM,
- Generate PDF – the customer downloads a PDF of their configuration,
- Send email – the configuration is emailed to the customer, with a copy to you if you like,
- Send email with PDF – as above, with the PDF attached.

Two frontend engines
Every component runs in the shop with one of two frontend engines: Legacy, the proven configurator, or V3, the new engine. Both read the same data, but some features exist in only one of them. Shopify and PrestaShop always run V3, Shopware 6 always runs Legacy; in Magento 2 and in the preview you set the engine per component. All the details: Frontend Engine: Legacy or V3.
The AI assistant
The AI assistant sits at the bottom of the admin. You describe your product in the chat, and it creates groups, characteristics, values, price tables and rules for you. It also reads PDF data sheets and images you attach. Publishing is up to you – the assistant can't do that.
The assistant consumes AI tokens; every plan includes a monthly allowance. You can switch it off under Settings → AI.
