Component Settings

Last updated: 01. January 2026

The component settings control the global behaviour of your configurator. You find them in the backend under the Settings tab on the left — next to Features and Rules.

Navigation in the Backend

The V3 backend of a component is divided into:

Left panel — Tabs:

  • Features — structure tree with features and feature groups
  • Rules — rule set (Blacklist and Predefine rules)
  • Settings — component settings (this article)
  • Feature Group — manage groups
  • Price Lists — manage price matrices

Top centre: toggle Edit | Preview

Top right:

  • Undo — revert the last change
  • Checkout — opens the checkout dialog to transfer the component to a finished integration (e.g. retrieve embed code or test plugin connection)

Right: SETTINGS panel — shows the settings of the currently selected feature (3 sub-tabs: Settings, Referenced in, Media)

Component Settings (Settings Tab → General)

BASIC SETTINGS:

  • Title — internal name of the component
  • Heading — optional visible heading in the configurator
  • Default language — e.g. German (de_DE)

DISPLAY:

  • Display mode — No groups / Tabs / Accordion

PRICE DISPLAY:

  • Price display — checkbox: show price yes/no
  • Price type — Absolute or Relative
  • Show when zero — show surcharges of €0 yes/no
  • Price pattern — display format (e.g. [$price])
  • Prices incl. tax — checkbox

MIN/MAX DISPLAY:

  • Show min/max — show price range

Settings Tab → Reporting

Statistics on configurator usage — e.g. how often it is accessed and which options customers choose.

Settings Tab → Custom Fields

Custom input fields shown when the customer completes the configuration — e.g. name, email or company. Useful in combination with the action button.

Preview

Preview mode shows the configurator as the customer sees it. Click through options and check whether prices, images and rules work correctly.

Note: Preview requires an active HTML5 integration under Settings → Integrations.

Feature Settings (right SETTINGS panel)

When you click a feature in the structure tree or in the preview, the right panel shows its settings with three tabs:

  • Settings — basic settings, behaviour, data type, options
  • Referenced in — shows which rules use this feature
  • Media — images assigned to this feature

Global Settings

Settings that apply to all components in your account (branding, email delivery, integrations, API) are found under Settings in the main navigation of the V3 backend.
