The AI assistant in configento.app V3 lets you build configurators in natural language. Instead of manually creating features, rules and prices, you describe your product in the chat — the agent does the rest.
Prerequisite: Activate the AI Assistant
The AI assistant must be activated once. Go to Settings → AI in the V3 backend and make sure the toggle is enabled. When disabled, the AI panel is hidden and no data is transmitted to the AI service provider.
What Can the AI Agent Do?
- Create features and options — from a product description or list
- Create rule sets — define dependencies in natural language
- Import price matrices — upload CSV files and assign automatically
- Adjust existing components — edit features, add options, correct rules
- Answer questions — e.g. "What can this configurator do?" or "Explain the formula of this feature"
Opening the AI Agent
Open a component in the V3 backend. At the bottom edge you find the AI bar:
- Left:
✦ AI Assistant— indicates the assistant is available - Right:
+ New Chat— opens the chat area
After clicking + New Chat the chat opens with the greeting "What can I do for you?" and prompt suggestions:
- "What can this configurator do?"
- "Add a selection field for the material"
- "Explain the formula of this feature"
- "Add a price matrix for width and height"
Your current token balance is shown in the bar on the right.
Building Your First Configurator via Chat
Step 1: Describe Your Product
"I sell roller blinds. Customers can choose width (50–400 cm), height (50–350 cm), colour (White, Anthracite, Brown, RAL custom colour) and drive (Manual, Electric 230V, Solar)."
The agent automatically creates the features with the correct data types and options.
Step 2: Provide Prices
Upload your price list as CSV or describe the price structure:
"Here is my CSV price list. Columns are the width, rows are the height. RAL custom colour has a 15% surcharge, electric motor +€120 and solar +€180."
Step 3: Define Rules
"If Drive = Solar, the colour White should not be available. If the width exceeds 300 cm, Manual is not possible."
Step 4: Review the Result
Switch to Edit and check the structure tree — are all features created correctly? Are the option names right?
Refine in dialogue:
"The option RAL custom colour should be called 'RAL choice colour'." "Add an option 'Measurement service +€49' as a Yes/No feature."
Tips for Good Results
Be specific about values: Instead of "various sizes" use "50, 100, 150, 200, 250 cm".
Upload data as a file: For price lists and option lists a CSV file is more reliable than long text.
Check the result: Review features, rules and prices in the structure tree after building.
Iterate: Build the configurator step by step and refine it in dialogue.
